about me

Hi, I’m Kerry Macdonald (she/her), Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

I’m also a mom of two, a lover of music, plants, nature, animals, yoga, a good laugh, strong coffee, astrology, and pop culture.

I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.

My approach is relational, attachment-focused, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed. While reducing symptoms is important, I believe lasting change happens when we begin to understand the deeper patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and deeply caring. They often find themselves carrying the emotional weight of relationships, questioning their needs, struggling to set boundaries, or wondering why they continue to feel disconnected despite trying so hard.

Together, we’ll explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion. My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and create more fulfilling and authentic connections with others.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 20 years working in the nonprofit mental health sector, supporting children, youth, adults, and families through life’s challenges. That experience reinforced something I continue to see every day: people are remarkably resilient, and meaningful change becomes possible when we feel safe enough to understand ourselves more fully.

If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to book a complimentary 15-minute consultation. We can explore what’s bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we’re a good fit.

I look forward to connecting with you.
